Owing to the impending elections in Rajasthan, a complete ban has been imposed on sale of liquor or any kind of intoxicants within a radius of three kilometres in Haryana, along the Rajasthan border.
The ban would be in effect from 5 pm on November 29 till 5 pm on December 1. The state would observe a dry day on December 8, the day counting of votes takes place in neighbouring Rajasthan.
A spokesman said in a release here on Tuesday that as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the assembly elections would be held across all the constituencies of Rajasthan on December 1.
He said that apart from the ban on sale of liquor or any other intoxicant, places like hotels, pubs and taverns where liquor is served would remain closed during the same period.
