Bihar’s delicacy ‘litti-chokha’ will now be served to train passengers at all railway stations in northern and eastern states following a directive from Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to his officials.Earlier , the Minister had introduced ‘mattha’ (buttermilk) and tea in ‘kulhad’ ( earthen cups) in trains .

According to Chief Commercial Manager KK Srivastava , recognising the popularity of  litti-chokha, a dish made of flour and vegetables, Prasad had asked them to open stalls at railway stations.

In an article in ‘Indian Railways’ journal, he said a litti-chokha stall was started at Patna station for the first time recently. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourist Corporation (IRCTC) has been told to open such stalls at other stations also.
