Live for others

The sun shines. Wind blows. Rivers flow. Seasons change. Flowers bloom. Night becomes day. Not for itself but for others. Similarly, we too are here for others.

If we look back, a plethora of faces come to our minds, who contributed immensely to our growth. Life would have not been possible if it was not for him or her. Inter-dependence is the most indispensable aspect of human life. Life moves not because of our own efforts but with others' contribution. How much weightage we give to others is a question mark.

We are proud to be a nation in the achievements of our fellow countrymen in the field of science, education, public health, infrastructure development and other advancements. All these would have never been possible without the other" and if we are to remain an individual. Attempts are always supplemented by many.

The more we stress the "I-ness" in our achievements; we publicly disown the contributions made by many and the otherness of life.

Let us remember that the road we travel is not built by us. Many have toiled. Give due acknowledgement. If the inventions made by countries are limited, the world would have never been the same. A singer sings for listeners. It there are no listeners, the singer's intensity to sing is lost. A danseuse dances for the audience. In an empty hall, the dance would have never been enriching and enchanting.

Nature is the best example of interconnectedness. We can learn many aspects of life's connection with others. Harmonize your living with nature. Definitely, it will be a great experience.

Tolerance towards fellowmen is the greatness of human beings. Respect the way you respect yourself. All religions preach and teach us. There is no goodness in possessing things unshared. Said the Buddha, "Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."
