LUCKNOW MUNICIPAL Corporation (LMC) has decided to construct four super deluxe and deluxe housing apartments on its vacant plot of 1.12 lakh square feet behind Engineering College at Sitapur Road.
The estimated cost of the whole project is around Rs 17 cr. These 8 to 10 storey apartments would fetch Rs 25 to Rs 32 cr in return after their sale, says LMC chief engineer SK Srivastava.
Giving an outline of the project the chief engineer said, “We are ready with the design and map of the four apartments having all modern facilities for the residents.”
About the cost of the apartments he said, “it is yet to be finalised but I am sure we will earn good revenue for the LMC, which would be used in future projects and development work.”
He said the LMC had left enough space for the parking slot and outhouses for servants. A space had especially been provided in the scheme for children’s playground.
The Lucknow Municipal Corporation had decided to build these apartments on its own as builders agreement would cost more to the LMC which was not ready to share the profit with any other builder in this project, he said.
Besides this project the LMC had finalised a colony for its staff at Hardoi road.
“LMC has hundreds of houses in the city but we don’t have any colony for our staff and that’s why we have also planned a colony for them,” Srivastava said adding “we will start working on these projects soon.” The municipal corporation’s engineering department is quite excited about the whole project and is waiting for the approval from the municipal bosses.
