Loganathan's relatives leave for US

Among those who left were parents of Loganathan, his brother and sister-in-law.
The family members of Professor GV Loganathan, who was killed in the shooting spree at Virginia Tech University, left for the United States by a Chennai-Frankfurt-Washington Lufthansa flight in the early hours of Thursday for performing his last rites in the US.
Among those who left were GK Vasudevan and Kannammal, parents of Loganathan, his brother Chengottuselvan and sister-in-law Senthamizh Selvi, official sources said.

The Regional Passport office in Chennai on Wednesday had issued passports to the family members waving the Tatkal fee. The US consulate in Chennai also expedited the issue of vias to them.
The Tamil Nadu government had announed that it would foot the bill for the family's travel.
