The Lokayukta has sought a report from the state financial commissioner and principal secretary, town and country planning, on a complaint filed by a Malibu Towne resident regarding denial of access to roof of their buildings by the developer.

The official has directed the authorities to submit the report within a month.

According to the complaint filed by Raman Sharma, the access denial has resulted in loss to the state's exchequer as much-hyped Rs 2.5-crore solar power project is all set to fail in Malibu Towne.

Residents wanted access to the roof as the plant has been installed there. Residents have also alleged that town and country planning department officials have connived with the developer in denying the residents the right.

In his complaint, Sharma said, “The project has been approved by the department of renewable energy and the Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency, but the T&CP and the developer are not giving us roof rights."
