Highlight Story

ONE MORE robbery on Tuesday evening despite intensified checking and frisking has proved that the ongoing Operation Ankush has not been  help so far.

Like in many incidents in the past, motorcycle-borne youths snatched a gold chain of a woman. The victim was returning home at the time of incident. There were more than half a dozen robberies in a fortnight.

Two days ago, a middle-aged woman’s gold chain was snatched in Jehangirabad at around 7 pm. The Operation Ankush was undertaken to mainly curb chain-snatchings by motorbike-born youths.

The sensational robbery at a petrol pump in Khajuri a week ago is yet to be solved. Unidentified robber had stormed into the cabin of the Kartar Fill and Fly Petrol Pump near Phanda and fired in the air to threaten the staff of the petrol pump. He had escaped with over Rs 30,000 cash.

In Berasia, two persons had robbed a youth of his motorcycle at knifepoint. The complainant, Badan Singh, a resident of Kararia, was riding the bike when he was waylaid and robbed by two persons.  Also, an elderly woman who was taking a walk outside her house in Arera Colony, was robbed. Two youths riding a black motorcycle had snatched her gold chain. In Walled City also several robberies occurred in the last couple of weeks.
