A low intensity bomb exploded in a dustbin behind a temple in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand Sunday late evening causing panic in the steel city which recently saw a communal riot.
The explosion ripped apart the iron walled dustbin scattering the garbage around a radius of 10 to 15 meters.
"This seems handiwork of some uncouth element to disturb peace of the city," said deputy superintendent of police Jacinta Kerketta.
She said an explosive expert is collecting parts of the explosives. "A team of experts have also left from Ranchi and would be reaching here late night", she said.
There has been no damage to life or property.
Police said they will soon be able to locate the culprits.
Jamshedpur had witnessed communal riots last month following clashes over some youth harrasing a girl from another community after which curfew had also been imposed in some parts of the city.
