Cooking gas supply will be ensured in all rural areas of the country by the next five years, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Jitin Prasad said on Monday.

"All rural areas will be covered under the 'Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) Vitrak Yojana' within the next five years," the minister said, addressing a public meet in Dorai village in Ajmer.

He was accompanied by Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communication and IT, who launched BSNL's 3G mobile services at Nasirabad complex in Ajmer. People of Kekdi, Nasirabad and Bijay Nagar will be benefited from the services.

Earlier at a function in Azad Park, Pilot distributed 550 computers free of cost to 224 accredited private schools of his parliamentary constituency Ajmer to promote IT education.
