The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) on Monday urged Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Indian spiritual ‘Guru’ who inspired the ‘Art of Living Movement’, to use his good will “to facilitate a ceasefire” in Sri Lanka where the Tamils plight worsened every minute.

The LTTE’s political head, B Nadesan, telephonically urged Sri Sri Shankar to do the needful in this regard immediately, a statement released by the Spiritual Head’s Office, in Chennai on Monday night said.

Nadesan also informed Sri Sri Shankar that the LTTE was “ready for peace” while requesting the latter to take steps to bring about a ceasefire in Northern Sri Lanka . He reiterated to the Godman that thousands of Tamils there were suffering “due to an acute shortage of food and medical facilities.”
