THE LUCKNOW University Teachers’ Association (LUTA) has condemned the attack on Prof GS Bhadouria and demanded both Lucknow police and the varsity administration to take stern action against miscreants involved in the attack. In its emergency executive body meeting, LUTA demanded security cover for Prof Bhadouria and his family members, as they perceive threat to his life.
Soon after the attack on the varsity professor, police swung into action and raided Chandra Shekhar Azad hostel and Golden Jubilee hostel. The raid that started after midnight lasted for two hours and cops searched almost all rooms but no arrests were made. Sources said more raids could be carried out in the hostel on late Friday night. So far, police have not been able to make any headway in the case.
On the other hand, former LUSU vice president Pawan Pandey denied his involvement in the incident and condemned the attack. According to Pandey, he had the teachers’ fraternity with highest regard and there was no reason for him to attack a teacher. Neither varsity administration nor LUSU office-bearers have so far issued any statement in this case.
