Madhya Pradesh: BJP MLA kidnapped me, says BSP candidate

A zila panchayat member post candidate belonging to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was allegedly kidnapped from collectorate premises on Thursday. However, he returned after about 3 hours. The alleged kidnapping took place after he had filed his nomination papers.

According to police, ward number-1 candidate Baburam Jamaur alleged that bharatiya Janata party(BJP) MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha and his supporters kidnapped him and threatened to kill.

They mounted pressure to withdraw nomination from panchayat election. Bhind Dehat police on the complaint have registered case against BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha and his four supporters.

BSP district general secretary Baburam Jamaur held a press conference at the residence of BSP leader and former MP Dr Ram Lakhan Singh on Thursday.

He said, "I had gone to file nomination form for candidature of panchayat election from ward No-1 and when I returned and was taking tea at canteen the BJP MLA Narendra Singh Kushwaha along with his supporters took me in vehicle forcefully and kept hostage for three hours."

Superintendent of police (SP) Vineet Khanna said that police have registered a case against Bhind MLA and some other persons and started investigation. BSP district selection committee has named Dulichand Patel as the candidate for the mayor's post for the Bhopal municipal corporation elections.
