MP could be the first state to launch Vidhan Sabha Television to telecast proceedings of the state Assembly on the lines of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha TV.

Speaker of MP state Assembly, Sitasharan Sharma had met officials of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting last week in New Delhi and had held a discussion on the issue.

"We have discussed about starting Vidhan Sabha TV with the officials in New Delhi and exploring if it could be done," confirmed the speaker, Sharma. He added that this was the first phase of talks and that the officials of the ministry were very positive about the initiative. It may take some time as this is completely a new subject for the state Assembly, he said.
