After a fortnight, district administration completely lifted the curfew at Ratlam city from Saturday night. Curfew was clamped in the city on September 27 after two incidents of firing. Two persons, including Bajrang Dal convener Kapil Rathore and his servant Pukhraj, were killed in the firing.

Kapil's brother Vikram was also injured in the firing. Earlier, Congress corporator Yasmin Sherani was injured after two unidentified motorcycle borne persons shot at her, while she was stepping out of Ratlam Municipal Corporation office.

However, district administration has decided to impose Section 144 in the whole city till further orders. The ban on the use of motor cycles by the young men will remain effective from 8 pm to 5 am.

Officials informed that night curfew has been lifted in the Manek Chowk police station and Station Road police station areas from Saturday midnight. This was the longest spell of curfew experienced by town as it took almost 15 days to completely restore the normalcy.

In the Industrial area police station and GRP areas, the curfew was completely lifted earlier. Meanwhile reports reaching from Taal said that the situation has become completely normal where some tension had erupted on October 1 following complaints of cow slaughter.
