Madhya Pradesh: Phase two polling on December 2

Polling will be held in 143 urban bodies on December 2 from 7am to 5pm in the second phase of urban body elections. Counting of votes of this phase would be held on December 7.

Polling will be held in 143 urban bodies on December 2 from 7am to 5pm in the second phase of urban body elections. Counting of votes of this phase would be held on December 7.

State election commissioner R Parasuram informed that one municipal corporation, 38 nagar palika parishads and 104 nagar parishads will go to polls in the second phase at 3,980 polling booths in 2,481 wards.

Number of voters in this phase is 29 lakh 25 thousand 233, including 15 lakh 29 thousand 647 males, 13 lakh 95 thousand 442 females and 144 others. Parasuram said that strict action will be taken against those trying to disrupt polling process.

He said that adequate security arrangements have been made at the polling booths.

One control unit and 3 ballot units will be installed at every polling booth at New Ram Nagar Nagar Parishad in Satna district since the number of candidates for the post of president there is above 15.

One control unit with 4 ballot units will be installed in ward number 3 of New Ram Nagar as the number of candidates is 16 there.

Similarly, one control unit with 3 ballot units will be installed in ward number 19 of Guna Nagar Parishad since the number of candidates is 16 there.
