Mahajan to undergo 'minor surgery'

Pramod underwent a CT scan on Friday to locate the bullets and to find out the extent of injuries to his vital organs.

Senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, whose condition remains "critical", would undergo a "minor surgical procedure" on Saturday.

"Mahajan is expected to undergo a routine minor surgical procedure the details of which will be provided later," Hinduja Hospital Director (Administration) Anupam Verma said.

His condition remains "critical" and he continues to be on ventilator and dialysis support, Verma added.

The BJP General Secretary underwent a CT scan on Friday to locate the bullets embedded in his body and to find out the extent of injuries to vital organs.

He was also put on increased medication for maintaining blood pressure. He underwent a surgery on Saturday and the fluid accumulated in the chest was removed.

Fiftysix-year-old Mahajan was shot at and critically injured by his younger brother Pravin on April 22.
