MAHARISHI VIDYA Mandir, Ratanpur, celebrated the Gyan Yug Diwas as 16th annual function with fervour on Friday. The institution held a similar programme on Friday on its school campus, Berasia Road.
The programme began with Guru Pooja followed by chanting of Ved and Dev Stuti to invoke the blessings of God and Gurus on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of its founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
In his welcome speech, principal Dr S N Rai greeted the guests and ex-students and stressed the need for value edition in today’s society. Addressing ex-students, Rai lauded their achievements and said, “My heart fills with joy whenever I come to know about their success.”
He also spoke about setting up of the Directorate of Distance Education under the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya in Vijaynagar, Jabalpur with an objective to reach out to interior areas by launching nine study centres in the State, where admission will start from January 23.
Commissioner, Public Instructions and chief guest L S Baghel praised the efforts of the school administration and Maharishi Shiksha Sansthan for spreading the value education and inspired the students by presenting them prizes.
DIG (Bhopal range) and guest of honour Anuradha Shankar stressed on balanced and positive attitude in students. The prize distribution ceremony was also held. Students also presented cultural programmes. Additional Commissioner, Income Tax, Anup Kumar Dubey, parents and those from MVM management were also present.
