FORMER DEPUTY PM and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Lal Krishna Advani stressed corruption-free MP in his address after releasing the Rs 2,745-crore integrated urban renewal development plan of Indore at Vaishnav Stadium on Friday. The plan includes projects worth Rs 1,700-crore approved under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
“If a small state like Finland can do it, why can’t India earn that credit? Gujarat is doing that. I ask Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to make Madhya Pradesh a corruption-free state. Getting rid of corruption should start from (Indore) Municipal Corporation,” Advani told a public gathering.
He said Indore would become country’s most advanced city if the municipal corporation and other development agencies use the money allocated for the purpose. “I will be happy if Indore could achieve this feat within given time frame, as it is the first city where I landed after moving from Sind (Pakistan) in 1943,” Advani informed.
Stating MP was the country’s fastest growing state, Chouhan said Indore would implement Rs 1,700-crore JNNURM projects in two years.
