Man arrested for faking his kidnapping

A man, working as a supervisor for a builder in Delhi, has been arrested for allegedly faking his kidnapping and Rs31 lakh were recovered from his possession, police said today.

The accused, Sunder Sagar working with builder Yashpal Verma for the last six years, withdrew Rs31 lakh on July 19 from the builder's account, SSP Raghubir Lal said.

Sagar informed the builder that he had been kidnapped and taken to the Chambal ravines, he added.

Police traced him through his mobile phone and on Friday found his location near Dankaur.

He was arrested from his house and the money was also recovered from him, Lal said.
