A man was arrested for allegedly murdering his colleague by beating him to death with a hammer in south Mumbai in the wee hours on Saturday, police said.
Deepak Mishra was arrested by two constables as he was fleeing after murdering his 25-year-old colleague, Yasin Mohammad Ali, they said.
Mishra was working with Ali at the Maharashtra Farsan house in the Girgaon area of south Mumbai. He murdered Ali in a fit of rage during an argument by beating him to death, police said.
Two constables nabbed Mishra when he was running away after the incident. They found his behaviour suspicious and questioned him to confirm that he lived in the Maharashtra Farsan house.
When they opened the shop they found Ali lying in a pool of blood and arrested Mishra, police said. Mishra was produced before a local court where he was remanded to police custody till May 7.
