A 28-year-old man was beaten up for allegedly refusing to tie a friendship band on the wrist of a stranger outside a pan stall in Dombivli (East) on Sunday.

Inspector Sangle of Manpada police station said, “Sujit Singh was smoking at a pan stall when two persons who were there before him saw that his wrist was covered in friendship bands. They demanded that he tie a band on their wrists. When Sujit refused saying he did not know them, they beat him up with a stick lying nearby. Sujit was taken to a hospital while his attacker Ajist Borsutkar has been arrested.”
