A 29-year-old woman from Bengaluru has accused the employee of a tour and travel company of raping her for 45 days, the police said on Thursday.
The woman in her complaint to the southeast Delhi police, alleged that the man, identified as Manan Naidu, had raped her for 45 days on the pretext of providing her a job.
She has also alleged that she was confined to a guesthouse in New Friends Colony by the accused.
He had lured her to Delhi from Bengaluru by telling her that she would be placed at a higher post in the company.
On the basis of her complaint, a case of rape and breach of trust has been registered at the New Friends Colony police station against Naidu, who also hails from Bangalore. Naidu, 34, was arrested on Wednesday following investigation into the case.
According to a police officer, the crime came to the fore on Tuesday when the woman filed a complaint against him, in which she said that she came to Delhi nearly two months ago after Naidu convinced her that he will get her a well-paying job in the travel company.
“The woman arrived in Delhi and met Naidu who convinced her to stay at a guesthouse in the New Friends Colony area. He took the woman to Goa, Mussoorie and Haridwar on the pretext of completing some documentation work and for interviews.
During all their outstation visits, he forced himself on her. She kept quiet as she wanted the job,” said the police officer, quoting the woman’s statement.
In her statement, the woman alleged that on returning from Haridwar, Naidu again confined her to the guest house.
That is when she realised that he had been fooling her and approached the police.
