A Delhi-based executive who lost his job six months back was robbed of his valuables while he was on his way to collect the balance salary from his company in Sector 33, Gurgaon.
At 10.45 am on January 15, KJ Joseph (43) got into a Toyota Qualis who offered him a lift at the busy Iffco Chowk, on Gurgaon expressway but he was robbed off his ATMs cards, cash and other valuables before being dumped gagged at a lonely place in Manesar, 20 kms away from where he was to get down.
His assaulters then withdrew Rs 59,000 from his account using his ATM cards before he could reach the bank and police officials allegedly refused to file an FIR as he failed to inform them the “names of the miscreants” and the registration number of the cab in which he was robbed.
A resident of Janakpuri, Joseph worked as an accounts officer with a private company. He lost his job due to absenteeism for the treatment of his wife who lost both her kidneys and is being treated for transplantation. “Even my wife has is jobless since August last year and we have no alternate source of income,” said the father of a 12 year old girl.
Ramesh Kumar, the SHO of Sadar Police station said that Joseph did not meet him.
