A 28-year-old man was shot dead and his mother critically injured when a dreaded criminal and his accomplices opened fire at them after the victims objected to a wrong parking inside the premises of their house in Masuri area of Ghaziabad on Monday night.

The incident took place at around 11 pm when Bobby, a dreaded criminal, came to Hasanpur and parked his Scorpio car inside the premises of Ajay Kumar’s house.

Bobby was accompanied by his two associates, police said.

Kumar and his mother Raj Bala, 60, came out and objected to the parking.

“When they objected, an altercation broke out between the criminals and the mother-son duo. Soon, the criminals opened fire, injuring Kumar and his mother,” superintendent of police Jagdish Sharma said.

Both the victims were rushed to a city hospital where Kumar succumbed to injuries on Tuesday morning. His mother has been admitted in the ICU. “We had no enmity with these persons and just objected to their wrong parking. As my son was killed, I am left with nothing,” said Raj Bala.

According to the police, Kumar suffered two bullets in his thigh while his mother also sustained a shot.

Police said that around 5-6 rounds were fired by Bobby and his two unidentified accomplices who later escaped in their car. Bobby had come to Hasanpur to visit his in-laws.

The police said that Bobby, an accomplice of slain notorious criminal Rakesh Hasanpuria, is involved in about 30 cases of murder and robbery. He is a native of Iglas area in Aligarh district.
