A Sunday visit to a religious shrine ended up in a tragedy for a Jammu family. Ravinder Sharma, 45, and his wife Sonia Devi, 40, were killed and their daughter and son injured in an accident between their Hyundai Santro car and a Punjab Roadways bus in Samba, 35 kilometres from here, on Sunday afternoon.

Sonia, 16, and Vivek, 10, are stated to be in a serious condition. Police said that the car was about to enter the highway when the truck rammed into it on National Highway-1, killing the couple on the spot.

A police official said that the children were being treated at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
