Manipur government will hand over a 250 hectare of land in Imphal West district to Assam Rifles for their use, official sources said on Sunday.

The land under the divisional forest office at Langol area would be handed over to Assam Rifles soon, they said.

The Inspector General of Assam Rifles (south) had requested the Manipur government to give them some land for use of their personnel in 2005.

After consideration, the government decided to give the land to Assam Rifles at Langol area, about 8 kms from Imphal city, sources said.
