Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday targeted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh describing him as "weak" and alleging he cannot take any independent decision, since his "boss is somebody else".

Addressing an election rally for BJP candidate Navjot Singh Sidhu in Amritsar this evening, Modi charged Congress did not dare to field Singh in Lok Sabha poll from anywhere in Punjab due to fear of defeat.

Modi alleged Singh did not dare to contest even the election of municipal councilor and in such circumstances how could he contest the parliamentary election. It was the main reason Singh never preferred to contest election and it was
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi who got him elected in the Rajya Sabha, Modi claimed.

Modi said the prime minister of the country should be elected by its masses and he should not be nominated. Modi charged Singh could not do anything for Sikhs who suffered at the hands of Talibans at Swat valley in Pakistan.

Attacking the UPA government, Modi accused it of being responsible for price rise and said the government never gave a serious thought to overcome it and that is why poverty was rapidly growing.
