Stating that Manmohan Singh happens to be the weakest Prime Minister he has ever seen, senior BJP leader L K Advani today said that even the likes of I K Gujral, Chandrashekar and Deve Gowda who had only handful of MPs with them had performed better.
Addressing a meeting at Saoner near Nagpur, Advani said that these former prime ministers provided good governance. But Manmohan Singh would not initiate anything unless he gets signal from '10 Janpath'. The BJP patriarch further said that when the UPA retained power (in 2009), Manmohan Singh had promised to take concrete steps to bring back black money stashed away in foreign countries within 100-days after coming to power. But it has been two years that the Congress-led coalition has been at the Centre and failed to fulfil its promise, he said adding if the black-money is brought back, all six lakh villages in the country can get rid off problems of drinking water, electricity and infrastructure.
Referring to Manmohan Singh's recent comments on Right-to-Information Act, the BJP veteran said the whole country knows that the RTI brought transparency in the system and even brought the differences between two important cabinet ministers (Pranab Mukherjee and P Chidambaram) before the public. He claimed that his yatra was receiving tremendous response from the people. Advani was accorded a warm reception at Kelwat on the Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh border.
BJP president Nitin Gadkari and deputy leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde, party general secretary Venkaiah Naidu and state BJP president Sudhir Mungantiwar received him. Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivrajsingh Chauhan accompanied Advani to see him off on the border. BJP functionaries Anant Kumar and Ravi Shankar Prasad were also present on the occasion.
