Senior Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi on Wednesday invited NCP chief Sharad Pawar to join the NDA saying he can be a PM candidate.

Speaking in Pune at a function on the eve of Pawar's birthday, Joshi said, "The NDA constituents often fight with each other. "If Pawar joins NDA, he would be able to end quarrels within the BJP-led alliance and could also become PM."

This is the second time Joshi has made such comments. Earlier, in August when Joshi asked Pawar to join NDA to become prime ministerial candidate, the latter had rubbished the proposal saying, "Joshi's comments are irresponsible"

Joshi responded to a query on whether NDA allies would accept the Maratha strongman as PM candidate saying "Pawar has skills to get things done."
