Manoj Chopra awarded Maya Kamath Memorial Award

Manoj Chopra, a renowned artist of the state, brought laurels to the state by receiving the Maya Kamath Memorial Award-2013 at a function organised by Indian Institute of Cartoonists in Bangalore.

The award was presented to Chopra by the chairman of the Maya Kamath Memorial Trust, Amarnath Kamath. This is the most prestigious award in the field of political cartooning in India. Entries were invited from all over the country and the best published cartoons of 2013 were adjudged by prominent panelists like Girish Karnard, a noted playwright who was one of the jury members.

Chopra's work was adjudged second best among the entries. The award was presented in the form of cash, a memento and a certificate of honour.

Chopra has achieved various national, international awards and scholarships .He is also a recipient of

Junior Fellowship by department of culture, government of India, and has been conferred the Lalit Kala Akademi scholarship.
