india Updated: Nov 11, 2010 09:14 IST

Maoists abducted two JD(U) workers and later freed one of them at Bijua Barwadih village in Bihar's Gaya district, officials said.

Heavily-armed ultras kidnapped Uday Prasad, the Dumaria Block JD(U) president, and his colleague Amrendra Prasad from the village, during campaigning last night, they said.

The Maoists freed Uday Prasad this morning. Raids are carried out to secure the release of Amrendra, they said.
