Maoists kill TDP leader in Andhra Pradesh

A local TDP leader was gunned down by Maoists in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning.

A local TDP leader was gunned down by Maoists in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning, police said.

The Naxals went to the house of T Nageswar Rao, a TDP leader in the village and ordered him to follow them, police said.

On reaching the village outskirts, Maoists fired from close range, police said adding Rao died on the spot.

The Maoists while leaving the place left a letter stating that their act is in protest against recent encounter in Mahabubnagar district.
