Suspected Maoists have attacked a brick kiln and set ablaze its office and a tractor at Falara Ishak village, police said on Saturday.

Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Neelmani told reporters in Hajipur on Saturday that Maoists had attacked the brick kiln office late last night after demanding ransom from its owner, Shiv Shanker Rai, to run it smoothly.

He said two dozen armed Maoist cadre left leaflets stating that the war against the landlords and the adminstration would continue after raiding the kiln.
