REPRESENTATIVE OF local NGO Spandan, Anil Saumitra, against whom Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology (MAPCOST) has lodged a police complaint of cheating, today said that MAPCOST Director General Dr Janardan Negi had lost his mental balance.

Saumitra alleged that Dr Negi had threatened to kill him after he sought certain documents from him under Right to Information. He said that he had not only lodged a complaint to this effect at T T Nagar police station but also requested for security.

He further said that Dr Negi, upset over his police report, had now lodged a complaint against him of cheating, making ‘misleading’ accusations.

Saumitra said that Kamla Nagar police station had not registered an FIR against him. He said that Dr Negi had apprised the media that a case against him had been registered under Sections 406, 417, 419 and 420 of the IPC, on the basis of his complaint at the police station although the police was yet to register the case.

He further said that he had initiated legal process against Negi and MAPCOST public relations officer Dr Naresh Tiwari for deliberately giving ‘misleading’ information to media with an intention to malign his image.
