THE MADHYA Pradesh Council for Science and technology (MAPCOST) will discuss the new science and technology policy during the general meeting of the Council on September 17 in the light of President APJ Kalam’s address in the State Assembly.
The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Jagdish Chandra Basu auditorium, Vigyan Bhawan at 11 am. Significantly, general meeting of the MAPCOST is being organised after a gap of four years.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will preside over the meeting. Ministers of Finance, Rural Development, Commerce and Industry, Science and Technology, Higher Education, along with the principal secretaries of the respective departments will be present at the meeting.
Besides, vice chancellors of the state universities, noted scientists and social workers and representatives of agriculture and science will attend the meeting. The meeting will also discuss the recent decisions about instituting awards for promoting scientific research in rural areas and technical innovations.
