Popular Marathi television personality Aadesh Bandekar joined the Shiv Sena on Friday.
Bandekar, who has anchored programmes like Home Minister, said he will take up any responsibility that the party entrusts him, including poll campaigning.
Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray (49), said, “A home minister is appointed after the government is formed, but this time, home ministers (housewives) will form a government.”
Bandekar is the third Marathi TV personality to join the party. Recently, singer Abhijeet Sawant and actress and former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena functionary Shweta Parulkar joined the party.
The Sena-BJP will announce their first list of candidates by September 25.
“We are confident of assuming power after the Assembly elections. Our government will take our own decisions and not depend on Delhi for everything,” Uddhav said.
