The 21st edition of the Mawana Sugars Indian Open Marathon will take place on Feb 7 here and an estimated 5,000 runners are expected to participate.
The first marathon to be conducted on the route proposed for the Commonwealth Games will see the event starting at the India Gate and passing through Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Connaught Place four times.
“The route will showcase the subtle glimpses of the city. Four repetitions of 10.49km each will constitute a full marathon” said Siddharth Shriram, chairman of Mawana Sugars.
The winner of the main event will take home Rs 2.5 lakh.
