Maruti, Toyota and others see dapper sales

The country's largest car-maker Maruti Suzuki India reported 12.6% year-on-yeardecline in total sales in June.

While Maruti sold 84,455 units in June this year compared to 96,597 units in the corresponding month last year. Maruti reported 7.8% decline at 77,002 units, over 83,531 units in June, 2012 in terms of domestic sales. Last month, exports of the company went down by 43 per cent to 7,453 units from 13,066 units in the year-ago period.

Even auto major Toyota saw a decline of 19.45% in its domestic car sales at 13,805 units in June, 2013.

Sales figures of others auto companies like VE Commercial Vehicles, Mahindra and Mahindra and TVS saw a also sharp fall. In-fact, Hyundai is the only major auto company that witnessed a marginal increase in sales this month.
