Jaya Chheda, wife of deceased matka king Suresh Bhagat, is reportedly suffering from multiple complications related to heart and urinary tract.

Chheda has approached the Bombay High Court seeking bail to get medical treatment at a private multi-specialty hospital.

Justice R S Mohite on Wednesday called for a report from doctors of JJ Hospital, who had earlier examined Chheda, by May 4. Additional public prosecutor Ajey Gadkari told the court that she is hospitalised at JJ Hospital.

Her application states that her heart functions with 40 per cent deficiency and may lead to cardiac failure.

She has allegedly been on medication for 20 years for hypothyroidism (disease state caused by insufficient production of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland). "The applicant (Chheda) was operated upon for appendix and had a caesarean section.
She also underwent liposuction over a year back," states her application.

Bhagat was killed on the Alibaug-Pen Road on June 13, 2008 when a truck rammed into his car. Crime branch investigations revealed it was a conspiracy by Chheda and Hitesh (Chheda’s son from her first husband) to take over the multi-crore matka business.
