The state government on Saturday ordered the release of Sheelu Nishad from Banda district jail.
The BSP MLA, from Naraini assembly seat in Banda district Purushottam Naresh Dewedi and his associates allegedly raped Sheelu on December 10/11.
She escaped from the house of MLA on December 12. Later the MLA implicated her in fake theft case and she was lodged in Banda district jail on December 15.
Talking to the journalists, cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh said the CB-CID has submitted its report to the state government. In its final report the probe agency has stated that theft charge made against Sheelu by the MLA was fake. The CB-CID has been directed to probe into the role of the police personnel who have registered fake theft FIR against Sheelu.
"The Chief Minister has ordered for release of the girl and the principal secretary (Home) has been directed to provide adequate security to the rape victim after she comes out of prison", Singh said.
Earlier speaking in a programme organized to mark her 55th birthday celebration at Bhim Rao Ambedkar auditorium located in Ram Manohar Lohia Law University campus the Chief Minister Mayawati said the state government would set up fast track court for the quick disposal of the case. "The state government would ensure that the rape accused as well as the police personnel who registered fake theft case against Sheelu are punished", she said.
"The state government was serious over the rape of the backward caste girl. The CB-CID was already probing the case and I hope the investigation agency will go into the root of the issue. To hide the heinous act the MLA and his associates implicated the girl in fake theft case", she said.
"In the statement the girl has said that MLA and his associates charged her with fake theft case", she said. Terming the theft charge a conspiracy of the MLA against the girl Mayawati said the state government would ensure that those who raped the girl and implicated in fake theft case would get strict punishment.
The police officers of Banda are also guilty Mayawati said without probing into the allegation of theft charge made against Sheelu by the MLA they registered FIR against her. "She was taken into custody and lodged in the jail. Instead of assisting the victim the police personnel supported the guilty", Mayawati said.
"The state government would ensure that law was strictly implemented and the criminals are punished", she said.
The state government had ordered for registration of FIR against the MLA on January 12 after CB-CID in its preliminary report stated that it has evidence of the involvement of the MLA in the rape case.
