Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will launch her party's election campaign from Kerala and will hold a series of public rallies till May 11.
"My campaign starts from tomorrow (Saturday) and I will hold a series of public meetings in all corners of the country till May 11 without missing a single day," Mayawati told reporters in Lucknow.
Mayawati named candidates for all 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh and said her party would contest in all 20 seats in Kerala.
"My absence for so many days does not mean I will ignore government's work. The government will function normally and every day I will be back after the day's campaign. Rest assured, Uttar Pradesh will not be ignored."
Mayawati expressed confidence about victory in the elections and said: "You will see when the results come."
