A top BSP leader and state Cabinet member on Tuesday claimed that Chief Minister Mayawati was going to become the next premier of the country and criticised the newfound affinity between SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Kalyan Singh.
Addressing a rally here, BSP National General Secretary Naseemuddin Siddiqui said "the post of Chief Minister does not hold any importance to Mayawati, since in the coming Lok Sabha polls she is going to become the Prime Minister of the country."
"It is only Mayawati who can actually move along with all the sections of the society and her philosophy of 'sarvajan hitay' has helped to usher in an atmosphere of fearlessness in the state," Naseemuddin said.
He also criticised the newfound affinity between SP chief and Kalyan Singh saying, "it is a cruel joke with the Muslim community that the person, who was responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid has now joined hands with Mulayam Singh.
He also challenged Singh that if he is really bothered about the Muslims, then he should prove himself by reading 'kalma' and not simply wear a Muslim cap.
