Mayoral poll: BJP, SP open offices

THE BHARATIYA Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party inaugurated offices for their mayoral candidates at different places in the city on Tuesday. The BJP office was inaugurated at Ramadhin Singh Inter College, Babuganj, by Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha Lalji Tandon. PWD and Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav inaugurated the SP office at the Navchetna Kendra in Hazratganj.

THE BHARATIYA Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party inaugurated offices for their mayoral candidates at different places in the city on Tuesday.

The BJP office was inaugurated at Ramadhin Singh Inter College, Babuganj, by Leader of Opposition in the Vidhan Sabha Lalji Tandon. PWD and Irrigation Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav inaugurated the SP office at the Navchetna Kendra in Hazratganj.

Speaking on the occasion, Tandon called upon residents to vote for the BJP to ensure development of city. All the development work started by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had been dumped by the present State Government, he said. Senior BJP leaders Bhagwati Prasad Shukla, Badri Prasad Awasthi, district president Jaipal Singh,  MLA Jai Prakash Chaturvedi, Suresh Srivastava, Suresh Tewari, Vidya Sagar Gupta, former MLA Gomti Yadav and Shiv Kumar Asthana were present on the occasion.

Mayoral candidate Dinesh Sharma said voters would ensure the third straight defeat for the SP candidate.

Meanwhile, senior SP leaders Virendra Bhatia, Ram Narain Sahu and Banwari Lal Kanchal were present at the Navchetna Kendra.
