Ghaziabad police have arrested an MBA student and his alleged lover for masterminding the murder of a land revenue official on June 23, police said.

Rajpal Singh (39) was found murdered on June 23 and his postmortem revealed he was shot dead and his head battered with bricks, the police said.

Vijay Kumar (22), a first-year MBA student from a reputed college, Singh’s second wife Jyoti (21) and Rambir Singh — hired to kill the victim for Rs 50,000, have been arrested.

“During investigations, Kumar said he frequented the victim’s house in his absence and befriended his wife. Singh came to know of their relationship and had thrashed Kumar. The duo then hired two killers,” said SP (City) Rahul Yadvendu.
