THE STUDENTS whose names appeared in the merit list of the MBD Talent Search Exam organised by the MBD Group were felicitated by BJP state president Narendra Singh Tomar and chairman of the MP Board of Secondary Education U K Samal in the City on Friday. Academician Dr H P Rajguru was also present on the occasion.
Ninety students featured in the merit list from the state. The students who topped the exams for a particular class were given gold medals, those with second rank got silver and those with third rank got bronze medals.
Shubham Chandak of Bhopal was given a special award for featuring in the merit list (of different classes) since last five years. The exams is conducted for students of standard I to X and merit list for each class is prepared at the state level.
Speaking on the occasion, Tomar appreciated the efforts of the MBD Group saying that such activities would help increase the intellectual capabilities of the students and thus assist in the development of the country. Congratulating the meritorious children, he also mentioned that such awards also encourage the students who did not feature amongst the toppers.
Samal said that appearing for such exams help the students in coping with the fear of the board exams. Rajguru said that such activities help in the overall development of children.
The principal of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School Sister Francis Joseph was felicitated on the occasion for lifetime achievement in education field. Six students from the school figured in the merit list. At the outset, the controller of exams and vice-president of MBD Group spoke about the objectives of the exams.
