Giving further relief to traders in the capital, MCD on Thursday cleared a list of 204 roads for commercial and mixed land use.
The list of roads in the posh C and D category colonies in all the 12 civic zones of the capital was approved by the MCD Standing Committee at a meeting in New Delhi and will be sent to the Delhi Government for notification.
"We will send the list of 204 roads in the C and D category to the Delhi Government on Thursday itself. They will be notified as commercial and mixed-land use roads," Standing Committee Chairman JK Sharma said after the meeting.
Out of the 204 roads, 55 will be declared as commercial streets, while 112 will be notified under mixed land use, he said. Peripheral street shops will be allowed on 18 roads, he added.
The MCD had on Monday cleared nearly 2,000 roads in the E, F and G colonies for commercial purposes.
He, however, said "the sealing drive will continue till the Supreme Court approves the list of roads notified."
Expressing concern over the delay in the notification of the list cleared by MCD on Monday, leader of the house, Jitendra Kochchar said, "the file has already reached the Lt Governor's office. We will meet him and convey the feeling of the house, so that the list will be notified today or tomorrow."
