The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has come under the scanner again for allegedly sanctioning a commercial building plan on a disputed land. The plot situated in a village in the old city is under litigation.
The MCG enforcement wing on Thursday sealed the under-construction building after an alleged nod by Gurgaon deputy commissioner (DC) PC Meena.
However, authorities are tightlipped about how, despite the land being court observation for years, the building plan got an approval. When HT contacted chief town planner SC Kush, he said, "The plan has not been sanctioned in my tenure. And I can't comment on when the land (or the area) came under the court's observation."
The building, according to MCG sources, was coming up as a hotel cum resort and construction up to the first floor had been completed. "I have no idea about the number of floors. We sealed the building after instructions from MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal," said joint commissioner KK Gupta.
