For the first time after its inception in 2008, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has decided to create vendors' space in an organised way in the city. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held here on Wednesday.
For this, MCG commissioner Sudhir Rajpal has constituted a team of officials to conduct a survey of street vendors in the city. The commissioner has asked the committee to submit its report by March 15.
"This is happening for the first time ever since the MCG's establishment in 2008," said a senior MCG official adding that all street vendors would be allocated space.
After the report is submitted, another committee will be appointed by MCG commissioner comprising councillors.
