An MBBS student has filed an FIR at the Rajendera Park police station accusing a friend of posting a morphed porn video on a website. After a 15-day investigation, the Gurgaon police (cyber crime wing) identified the accused but are yet to make any arrests.

In December last year, Gurgaon resident Neetu Singh (name changed on request), a final year MBBS at a Delhi college, was shocked after a friend told her that a video featuring her had been posted on a porn website. When she checked the video, she found that someone had morphed her picture and posted it on the site to defame her. She decided to remain silent about the case for the time being but things became worse for her, the police officials investigating the matter said.

Around the same time, Neetu was preparing for her exams and she was already under academic stress. She could not even talk to her parents about the video.

Later, many people even started to believe that she was working for a porn site and the matter reached the college management, apart from regular taunts by her friends, the police officials said.

"The matter came to us for investigation around 15 days ago and we discovered that it was one of the victim's old friends who had morphed a video and posted it on the porn website. We have identified the person and would soon arrest him. We have also got the video blocked," said inspector Suresh Kumar of the cyber crime cell.

"These days one should be very careful before posting or uploading picture on social networking websites. It is not safe anymore and people tend to misuse it. We have often seen cases where old friend resort to such acts to either defame or take revenge. In some cases, people do it for fun also," he added.

Last month, a similar incident was reported from an engineering college where the victim's ex-boyfriend had posted photos on a porn site and created an account on Facebook.
