Senior Superintendent of Police Brij Lal Meena, who was injured when his gun went off accidentally while he was cleaning it, was on Monday transferred, less than a month after being posted in the district.
Meena, who injured his left hand in the freak accident on January 15 and is undergoing treatment, has been replaced by SSP Bulandshahr Raj Kumar and is the third SSP Ghaziabad to be transferred in seven months.
Meena has been posted as Superintendent of Police Railways, Lucknow, officials said.
Meena suffered a bullet injury days after he joined as SSP replacing L Ravi, who was posted in August last year.
Meena's service revolver went off accidentally while he was cleaning it, police had said with the District Magistrate denying reports that the SSP was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident.
